Please Note:
[signed] indicates a designer's monogram, not a signature, and "pos" indicates a previous owner's signature.
Even if not noted, most of the books have either bookplates or pos. All books are
shipped in their polyester dust wrappers (removed for the photos below).
Condition is as described and as shown in the photos, but no attempt has
been made to collate any of the books. They are offered as examples of
the art of cover design. Some of the books are in excellent condition,
and are duplicates, or books eliminated from the collection either
because they fall outside the guidelines (date or place of publication)
or to make room for other books. There are also reference copies that have
been replaced in the collection by copies in better condition, or by
other books.

this copy likely 1916 based on adverts in the book. In a chipped
dj with the same
design as the cover but without the green. Some wear to corners, inner
hinges archivally strengthened.
Harrison,
Constance? The Anglomaniacs. Cassell Publishing House,
1890. (reference copy) Mild soiling to the
flat-weave cloth, title fading on spine, wear at spine ends and corners,
still a good example of this unusual design.
Jordan, Elizabeth. May Iverson Tackles Life. Illustrated by
Charlotte Harding Brown. New York & London, Harper & Brothers.
n.d. ©1912, this copy inscribed Dec. 25, 1929. (reference copy). A very
hard to find design, this copy is lightly soiled with rubbed spine
ends and corners. Though some of the cloth color has rubbed off, it
has not rubbed through the cloth.

bright. Archivally reinforced front hinge, very slightly bumped
and rubbed corners and spine ends, pencil notations on ffep. A very
nice copy of a beautiful arts and crafts leaf wreath design. First
(only?) American edition, from sheets printed in Britain. Scarce: no
American copies found in abebooks or ilab.

Edward Stratton Holloway]. Although this copy is somewhat rubbed and
soiled, it is in better condition than this edition is usually found..

(in Brodart) of same
design as paper panel, but with lavender instead of gold. Dj torn (see
photo) and missing top inch and bottom 1/4 inch of spine. Book almost

cloth. Cover design incorporated
in dj design. The scarce Dj is taped, is complete, and is in Brodart
cover. Bookseller's pencil notations on ffep. The
covers are like new, and the only marks on the interior are a thin
line down the fep's where the tape on the dj offset.
