Box made from
early Antiphonary covers
Above: The spine
is new leather dyed to match the old, over binder's board with simulated cords
The original spine was missing parts and was smaller than the box. It was pared thin as an onlay.
The flesh side that was pared off was shaved thin and used to make up the missing parts.
14½" x 22" x 2"
Below: The inside of the box is lined with vellum. The bottoms of the trays are the original pastedowns.
The sides of the trays and the spine liner are new vellum. The exposed edges of the trays are
finished in Armenian Bole and gold leaf.
