There are three
versions of this
catalog being planned for publication in the fall of 2008.
The pre-publication discount subscription price indicated is the final payment and not a deposit. No further
payment is due upon publication.
Subscribers
also have access to a private website while the book is being produced,
with images of all the covers that have been scanned or photographed.
This site also has the archive of Subscribers
Newsletters, with details
and anecdotes about the designs as they are catalogued. It has the current
database file of the collection for download by subscribers. There are also 19th
century reference items that have been converted to PDF format.
Librarians
use the information from each Newsletter to
remove books from circulation and bring them to the Special Collections
environment, saving them from further wear or loss. Curators,
collectors and dealers use the flow of information to
purchase the few
remaining copies of books that are available.
At present
there are 300 designs and variants that were not in the first collection. Many of
these are hard to find in decent condition.
Please use the online ordering or subscription form below.
The
Advance Pre-Publication Subscription Prices below are valid through May
31, 2008. On June 1, 2008 the prices will increase. Each
month thereafter the price increases until it reaches the publication day
price. The publication price is subject to change. A pre-publication subscriber's
price will not increase even if the publication price increases.
You can also see samples of the Subscribers
Newsletter and the Subscribers Website.
The
catalog is
available in three formats to complement the editions of the first
volume.
